MIRACLES
Yesterday we had a baptism for 안태현 (An Tae Hyun). He is eight years old. His whole family are members, but his parents are inactive. His two older sister's go to church every week. I am so happy and grateful for this baptism. I have been teaching this little boy since I've been in Korea. I've seen him progress so much and have witnessed miracles that helped him receive baptism. At first the parents would not let him go to church. But we contiuned to encourage him to pray and ask his parents. Then suddenly the mom told him one day, "you can go to church." Then when we asked if he could get baptized the parents opposed. For a transfer nothing happened. We just encouraged him to pray and ask. Then one Sunday our Mission Leader told us that our Bishop called his father and he agreed to let 안태현 to get baptized. Looking back, there is nothing us missionaries did that resulted in his baptized. It was the faith of this little boy, the help of the members, and God's unexplained ways that made this baptism happen. '
And it was so cute, because after he had had his baptismal interview he ran up to his dad and said, "I am getting baptized." He really wanted to get baptized. And it was so wonderful because the Dad really wanted to attend his baptism so we set a date so he could come. And he did, even though his kids think none of their parents would come. And it was great, the Dad came to Sacrament meeting too and stayed after the baptism and socialized with members. Unfortunaley his mom did not come. But I hope she will recoginze a good change in her son and have a desire to come back. And now he and his sisters can be such great examples to their parents. I hope they will come back to the church and that family can recieve the blessings of the temple. He is such a special little boy.
